GroundWorks heads to the Gartner Auditorium at the Cleveland Museum of Art for our spring performance series in Cleveland.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, GroundWorks presents a world premiere by Cleveland native and internationally renowned choreographer Dianne McIntyre. Regarded as an artistic pioneer, with an impressive career spanning four decades with choreography for dance, theatre, television and film, Ms. McIntyre brings her individualistic style to GroundWorks in a dramatic new work. Also on the program is James Gregg’s “éveillé” (Awake) inspired by Italian poet Giambattista Basile’s version of the Sleeping Beauty story. Creating this work in 2017 for GroundWorks, Gregg combines his unique “fixed point” style of movement while re-imagining a timeless story about tenderness, love, dark beauty and tragedy.
