Zygote invites you to attend a pop-up exhibition and artist talk presented by our current artist in residence Katerina Velliou.

Velliou is an artist living and working in Thessaloniki, Greece. She graduated from the School of Visual and Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed her post graduate work in the field of Architectural Design at the Architecture School of the University of Thessaly. She has worked as an executive manager for private companies within the fields of graphic design and architecture and since 2017 has been teaching Fine Arts at public secondary education institutions in Greece. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout Greece and abroad.

Velliou works across multiple mediums including print, sculptural and video installation, and painting. Her recent work deconstructs processes of perception, exploring how we see and interact with reality and time through an exploration of the urban environment. Her wide ranging influences coalesce to form immersive works and experiences.
