Community members are invited to celebrate Earth Day and make a difference by volunteering for the annual Dugway Brook Spring Stream Sweep, to be held in historic Forest Hill Park on Saturday, April 20.
Litter such as plastic bags, bottles, food wrappers, Styrofoam, and coffee cups wash down storm drains that connect to local streams and rivers – ultimately ending up in Lake Erie, our source of drinking water. Individuals, families and community groups will have the chance to get a little wet, a little dirty, and have a lot of fun pulling trash and debris from the stream corridor or pulling invasive garlic mustard from the surrounding banks.
Volunteers will meet at the Forest Hill Park parking lot off Lee Blvd. in Cleveland Heights (Forest Hill Baseball Diamonds parking lot on Google maps) on Saturday, April 20 at 12:30 pm. Gloves and trash bags will be provided, as well as refreshments. Warm clothing and waterproof boots are recommended.
Free admission. Advance registration recommended. Register online at doanbrookpartnership.org or register with Andrew at 216-325-7781 ext. 6783 or klooster@doanbrookpartnership.org
