Join us for a celebration of folk music with daytime free workshops and performances, and an evening concert featuring a variety of styles, including Americana, Irish, Indian, and Polka.
The Lake Erie Folk Fest celebrates a diverse array of traditional music and dance styles from a wide variety of cultures, and provides free workshops with accomplished instructors for people of all ages and skill levels, to encourage the preservation of and participation in the traditional arts. Whether you’re a musician or just a fan of great music and the arts, there is something for everybody to enjoy!
Musicians, dancers and fans of bluegrass, old time, Irish, blues, polka, ballads, poetry and everything in between are invited to participate in 50 free workshops, dances and community concerts from 1 to 6 PM.
There is also room for musicians to get together and jam throughout the course of the day.
The event will cap off with a 7:30 PM evening concert featuring the acclaimed Americana due Richie and Rosie who present traditional and original music in unique and wonderful ways. Other featured performers include:
Journeywork – Traditional Irish music featuring flute, whistle, Uillean pipes and guitar
Jim Volk– Progressive roots guitarist
Shri Kalaa Mandir – Classical Indian music & dance
The Chardon Polka Band– Polka, what else!
The festival is a collaboration between two nonprofit organizations, The Shore Cultural Centre and the Northeast Ohio Musical Heritage Association.
