On Saturday, February 16, join us at Goldhorn Brewery for the eighth panel of the Cleveland Sculptors Network/Getting There from Here, Next Question: A Slowed Down Practice, with visiting artist Michelle Illuminato, W2S 2019 artists Kelley O’Brien and Ryan Dewey (We too, traverse the earth and Lines of Descent), and moderator artist Elizabeth Emery. The panel event is free and open to the public.
The discussion will deal with relational aesthetics and the use of time in sculpture. How does incorporating events over time into one’s practice change the artists consideration of their own work? The audience’s perception of the work as sculpture? How does the artist combat widespread ideas about sculpture “events” in their work?
