The East West All Star Games 1933-1953

Presented by Baseball Heritage Museum at Baseball Heritage Museum at League Park

This presentation will discuss the annual assembly of the best Black and Latino baseball players, who were the equals of their White counterparts in Major League baseball.  The East-West All-Star Classics ranked among Black America’s favorite sporting events attracting tens of thousands of fans each season.  Most games were held at Chicago’s Comiskey Park; but New York City, Washington, DC and Cleveland, Ohio also hosted the contests sometimes in a given season as a second All-Star game.
