Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, the documentary originally filmed for IMAX follows archaeologist Dr. Jodi Magness as she travels through the city gaining unprecedented access to holy sites and its vast underground network to unravel some of Jerusalem’s greatest mysteries. The Washington Post described the panoramic photography as “at once awe-inspiring and intimate” and said watching the film “may be as close as a person can get to praying at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Western Wall, without actually going there.” A talk-back follows with Dr. Magness to answer questions, and provide a scholarly behind-the-scenes take on the production.
