Community members are invited to celebrate Earth Day and make a difference by volunteering for the annual Doan Brook Spring Stream Sweep, to be held in Cleveland’s historic Rockefeller Park on Saturday, April 9th.
Litter such as plastic bags, bottles, food wrappers, Styrofoam, and coffee cups wash down storm drains that connect to local streams and rivers – ultimately ending up in Lake Erie, our source of drinking water. Individuals, families and community groups will have the chance to get a little wet, a little dirty, and have a lot of fun pulling trash and debris from the stream corridor or pulling invasive garlic mustard from the surrounding banks.
Volunteers will meet at Rockefeller Park Lagoon Gazebo in University Circle near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and East 105th Street on Saturday, April 9 at 12:30 pm. Parking at Rockefeller Park is available near the tennis courts. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Warm clothing and waterproof boots are recommended.
Free admission. Advance registration recommended. Register online at https://doanbrookpartnership.org or register with Elizabeth at 216-325-7781 or smith@doanbrookpartnership.org
