Great Performances: The Cleveland Orchestra Centennial Celebration Premiere

On Saturday, September 29, 2018, cameras were rolling at historic Severance Hall to record the gala concert commemorating the centennial of The Cleveland Orchestra’s founding. Led by Franz Welser-Möst, the Orchestra performed works touching on more than a century of Viennese musical traditions, featuring a performance by world-renowned, Grammy-nominated pianist Lang Lang. And on Friday, January 11 at 9pm, Great Performances, America’s preeminent performing arts television series, will share this magnificent concert with the nation.

Great PerformancesThe Cleveland Orchestra Centennial Celebration is a co-production of WVIZ/PBS ideastream, The Cleveland Orchestra, THIRTEEN Productions LLC for WNET and Clasart Classic. This program celebrates the long and growing partnership between The Cleveland Orchestra and ideastream, dedicated to collaborating on projects that can transform lives through the power of music.
