First solo exhibition from visual artist and filmmaker Noelle Richard. Held during April’s Third Fridays event at 78th St. Studios.
no water presents a collection of drawings by Noelle Richard. As humans hurl catastrophically towards their own extinction, this show speculates what the future will feel like, and what will remain once the natural world is destroyed. These drawings depict a still, uneasy world filled with salt lakes, abandoned infrastructure, and mysterious semi-natural phenomena. How is desolation expressed when everyone with tear ducts is gone?
Noelle Richard is a filmmaker and visual artist from Cleveland, Ohio. They received a BFA in Drawing with an emphasis in Photo+Video from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2017. Their work has been shown in group exhibitions and film programs locally, nationally, and internationally. no water is their first solo show.
