Protecting Health in a Changing Climate: Opportunities for Action
Join us as we welcome Dr. Madeleine Thomson, Senior Research Scientist, International Research Institute for Climate and Society as she discusses the protection of health in a changing climate and opportunities for action.
2017 was a catastrophic year for weather-related loss of life around the globe. The climate crisis has arrived and public health officials must learn to deal with the effects of today in addition to searching for solutions for tomorrow. Learn what decision makers should know in order to better understand the climate and reduce current and future climate risks to health from disease, disasters and malnutrition.
5:30pm: Doors open. Enjoy complimentary light appetizers, a cash bar and live music. Entrées available for purchase at Exploration: A Zack Bruell Restaurant, located off the Wade Oval lobby. Museum exhibitions, galleries and store are open.
7pm: Presentation begins in auditorium, followed by Q&A. Select speakers sign their books afterward.
