Exhibition in the Gordon Square Art Space featuring artwork by QYou and Sage program participants from the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland
Join us Friday, November 2nd from 5-8pm in the Gordon Square Art Space, 1386 W. 65th St., for the opening reception of Visual Voices: a celebration of multimedia LGBTQ youth art.
Working in collaboration with dedicated art therapist Cheryl Pete through funding from MetroHealth, the attendees of the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland’s QYou program have been creating multimedia, identity-based artwork that expresses each of their unique, diverse and nuanced experiences. This show will include a wide range of work, from paintings and illustration to sculpture and poetry. Speaking to identity is a brave act at any age, but this exhibition will be a space through which the young LGBTQ+ artists can step out to share their truth and celebrate their identities.
QYou is the queer youth initiative at the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland, located in Gordon Square Arts District. This program is a safe and affirming place for LGBTQ youth and provides a network of community-based support along with access to comprehensive LGBTQ engagement activities.
The Gordon Square Art Space is an initiative of the Gordon Square Arts District to provide artistic opportunities for artists and organizations in the neighborhood. Many thanks to Cuyahoga Arts and Culture and the taxpayers of Cuyahoga County for their continued support.
