This music from the eve of an aesthetic revolution doesn’t conform to our expectations about Baroque music, but it’s not quite Classical either. Rather, it mixes the humor and wit of early Haydn and Gluck together with a little of CPE Bach’s sturm und drang and adds characteristically lush French harmonies to create a truly unique sound.
