Join us in the gallery with Peter J. Haas, Abba Hillel Silver Professor Emeritus, to discuss the Balfour Declaration. In the early 20th century, the Jews were a population without a strict homeland. Still, the dream of a Jewish homeland persisted, and in November of 1917 the British government made the surprising decision to support that dream. This decision is known as the Balfour Declaration.
