Music is offered to youth k- 8th grade to develop and enhance their musical talents and skills. Youth gain the value of team work, self- confidence and the freedom to explore musical talents. Music appreciation includes a brief history review, singing, drums and string instruments especially the violin. Youth participate in two locations  after school. In partnership with Nathan Hale School, youth K – 8th grade engage in singing and violin after-school 3:30-4:30 P.M. on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the school campus.  Youth from the Mt Pleasant community meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at Thea Bowman Center 4-5 P.M. to explore and engage in singing,playing the violin  and the drums.Youth will come together from both locations to share their talents and skills at an events including a special holiday luncheon for community residents.

Admission Info

Music appreciation is offered free to youth in the Mt Pleasant community primarily to grades K – 8th grade. Events where youth will share their talents will be free to the public- TBC holiday luncheon, Nathan Hale School, TBC events-Jazz Brunch
