Veteran's Voices

Veteran's Voices

Presented by Cuyahoga County Public Library at South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch

Are you a veteran who wants to write, share and publish your stories about your military experience? Each week, participants will use different creative writing techniques, from poetry to collage to memoir. The series will culminate in a personal literary zine and reading on Veteran’s Day where participants will be encouraged to share their work with the community.

D.L. Ware is a poet and writer with a background in Social Work. Since 2010, he has organized and facilitated community-based creative writing workshops throughout Northeast Ohio for youth and adults. In 2016, he collaborated with LAND Studio in creating “Love Lunes Over Buckeye” and “Ode to Lake Erie” for “Greening of Buckeye Infrastructure” as forms of Literary Public Art projects in the Buckeye/Woodland Hills neighborhoods. He was enlisted for six years in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer and served in combat during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

*All meetings take place in the Writers’ Center Meeting Room except on the dates of September 23, October 21, and November 4. On those days, the meetings will take place in Meeting Room C.
