Every First Friday, from May-October, live concerts will take place at the Waterloo Tower during Walk All Over Waterloo.
Friday September 7th features Church of the Lazy Bastards and Manhattan Beach Project.
Church of the Lazy Bastards is old school outlaw country with influences of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams (all 3 of ’em), Merle Haggard, Shooter Jennings, Waylon Jennings, Lyle Lovitt, and ZZ Top to name a few. Band Members include Rick Sirl singing and playing acoustic guitar, Rick Pflueger on electrical guitar, Josh Jenkins on bass, Nikki Stixx on thumping, and Jon Ban on Harmonica. The musical evolution from backwoods bluegrass to outlaw country has been met with some fan fair and has led to the opportunity to play with such fan acts as, David Allen Coe, Wayne “The Train” Hancock, Whitey Morgan, Grace Askew, Lydia Loveless, and T-Model Ford to name just a few.
Manhattan Beach Project is a collaborative effort of musicians living around the Shore Acres Community in North Collinwood. Founding members Meredith Pangrace and Scott Stettin have created an upbeat music experience that incorporates accordion, ukulele, and acoustic guitar. Often joined by musical neighbors and friends, you are guaranteed memorable melodies and quirky instrumentation.
