A new monthly program in partnership with ASALH( Association for the study of African American Life and History). Each event includes dynamic activities and more for all ages!
Black History Saturdays will be days fulfilled with Black African American History from every Saturday starting August 25th – December 29th. Each Saturday will highlight an African American that has made their mark in American history. For example, Jesse Owens, Sidney Poitier, Lorraine Hansberry, and Dorothy Dandridge will be showcased as a special look into their lives and how they came across their ground breaking marks in hisotry.
August 25- (Lorraine Hansberry) African American Playwrights
September 29- African Americans in Science and Medicine
October 27- (Sidney Poitier) African Americans in Hollywood & on Broadway
November 25- (Jesse Owens) African American Sports Heroes
December 29- (Dorothy Dandridge) Famous African Americans from Cleveland, Ohio
