Aging should be a blessing, not a curse.  DuffyLit is taking concerts  of “Spirituals” to three Senior Residences.  In coordination with the Activities Directors,  DuffLit Youth Ensemble will survey, listen and record the senior participants’ singing and movement based on the music of the “Spiritual”.  DuffyLit Youth Ensemble will engage with the seniors to hear their stories and songs.  As they listen to the stories of the seniors and interact with them, our youth will gain experience as described by the noted historian and educator, Gilbert Highet,  “Wherever there are beginners and experts, old and young, there is some kind of learning going on, some kind of teaching.  We are pupils and we are all teachers.

This experience will form the base for DuffyLit Ensemble, community singers and dancers, along with guest artists to perform at the St. Ignatius Breen Center for the Performing Arts.
