The Museum of Creative Human Art was founded by Antwoine Washington and Michael Russell in 2016. A call for action was made after reading reports and realizing the lack of artists education/ development in BIPOC communities

International Journal of Education Inclusion confirms the positive effect collaboration in art and art education can have on students’ social interaction and self-confidence. In the first large-scale study of artist diversity in museums, researchers examined more than 40,000 artworks in the collections of 18 museums across the US, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the Art Institute of Chicago. They estimate that 85 percent of artists represented in these collections are white and 87 percent are men
