The Cleveland Restoration Society, founded in 1972, identifies, protects, and celebrates the heritage of Northeast Ohio, as embodied in its built environment. Just as museums preserve works of visual arts and orchestras keep the classical repertoire alive, CRS preserves architectural landmarks and neighborhoods that tell the stories of the people of Cleveland and its surrounding communities. A dynamic staff of 13 operates from the 1883 Sarah Benedict House in Cleveland, but is frequently in the field providing expert guidance to communities and property owners. CRS is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Partners Network.
