Fostering Hope is looking for a qualified Art Instructor/Teaching Artist, with a trauma informed practice and heart for kids in residential treatment, to grow its Hope in Balance program. Position will remain open until filled.
Hours: 3-4 one hour classes per week (2 back to back on 2 weekdays) between the hours of 3:30-5:30pm
Location: Greater Cleveland, west side
Salary: beginning at $55/class, supplies provided
Supervisor: Health and Wellness Director
Job Responsibilities:
- Teach weekly trauma informed art classes for youth, ages 6-18, in residential treatment facilities (no more than 10 students per class)
- Complete the residential treatment onboarding and screening process
- Work in partnership with residential treatment therapists and staff
- Provide occasional summaries of classes to Hope in Balance Coordinator
- Participate in occasional continuing education classes and meetings (1-2X /year)
Qualifications & Skills Needed:
- Must have experience teaching art classes with children and teens
- Trauma informed training or familiarity with residential treatment population required
- Able to think on feet and adjust teaching and projects to fit to client needs
- Excellent planning and communication skills
