Beck Center for the Arts seeks an experienced and dynamic individual to join us in the role of Director of Development.
As a member of a six-person management team and with the support of three development staff members, the Director of Development is responsible for developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive development program to maximize contributed income in support of the mission of Beck Center for the Arts. Working closely with the CEO and management team, the Director of Development helps to set organizational priorities, solve issues, and contribute to the strategic plan. Staffing and engaging a team of volunteer board member leaders, an effective annual giving program is designed and executed including a yearly plan, analysis and regular direct mail and email appeals, to meet the annual fund goal for individual giving, while ensuring that all donor cultivation, recognition, and stewardship events are strategically and successfully implemented.
The ideal candidate would be a highly organized, detail-oriented and energetic person with five-plus years of development leadership experience, a proven track record of fundraising and relationship-building, and preferably some capital campaign experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, high-level interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy. An affinity for arts and education is a must.
