The Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) invites applications for the full-time position of Advancement + Communications Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Foundation + Government Relations, the Advancement + Communications Coordinator is responsible for grant applications and reports; email newsletters and support for external communications; writing and editing content for print and online; supporting funder stewardship; supporting foundation, corporate, and government relations efforts; and occasional event and data entry support. A great candidate will have strong attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere.

The Advancement + Communications Coordinator will prepare grant applications, proposals, reports, and other correspondence to corporations and foundations; prepare and schedule internal and external email communications; draft and edit content for various print publications and online communications; and support government relations efforts, including stewardship, correspondence, strategy, research, and communications. As a member of the Institutional Advancement team, they will assist with the planning and execution of events for donors, funders, alumni, elected officials, and other supporters and partners. They will occasionally assist with processing donations and drafting acknowledgment letters.

A Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of experience in fundraising, communications, and/or government relations in an educational institution or nonprofit organization are preferred. The Advancement + Communications Coordinator will use programs such as Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Word), Raisers Edge, and email marketing software. A strong understanding of Microsoft Office programs is imperative in this role. Knowledge of Raisers Edge (or other donor management database) as well as previous experience with email marketing systems is preferred. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, effective time management, strong writing skills, and knowledge of fundraising techniques and best practices.

Compensation
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. CIA offers a benefit package including; vacation, sick, and personal time accrual, as well as additional time off while the college is closed during winter break.
