MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Position: Full Time

Summary:

The Marketing and Development (M&D) Coordinator supports Zygote’s membership, fundraising, marketing, and grant writing, as they relate to the organization’s mission of serving the arts community. The M&D Coordinator works collaboratively with the Executive Director, and other members of the Zygote staff to research, develop, implement, and create materials and campaigns to increase visibility and secure financial resources for every focus area of the organization.

 

Responsibilities:

Membership 

  • Enter incoming members information into Little Green Light (LGL) system
  • Enter general giving donations into LGL
  • Notify expiring members
  • Update letter and email templates for appeals and notices
  • Export constituent lists when asked for data analysis
  • Serve as point person for annual membership drive

Social Media/Marketing 

  • Coordinates social media Calendar, aligned with our shop, programming, and events schedule
  • Use social media to actively communicate with community members, artists and donors
  • Report metrics and analyze data related to social media strategy
  • Maintain an archive of marketing initiatives as well as an image and video library
  • Take videos and photos on a regular basis to highlight shop activity and our community of artist members
  • Edit photos and text for instagram posts
  • Create images using graphic design for specific social media events and highlights
  • Video editor for resident artist talks and informational videos about our studio
  • Assist filming on and off site videos for social media, workshops, or artist residency programming
  • Research opportunities to increase the organization’s visibility in the community
  • Update information on the website/create website content for marketing, fundraising, and promotion
  • Work with artists on all publicity materials
  • Create content for Zygote’s promotional materials (brochures, posters, flyers, etc.)
  • Weekly e-blast on Mailchimp

Development

  • Develop and maintain a calendar or all pertinent dates and deadlines related to grant process including initial due dates, reviews and reporting dates
  • Engage a diverse group of current and potential stakeholders, funders and donors
  • Write new and ongoing grant proposals for programs, projects, events, residencies, and general operating support
  • Work with staff to research the organization’s opportunities for grant funding 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with cultural arts funders, both locally and nationally
  • Create grant reports for funders
  • Work with staff to plan fundraising events
  • Serve as point person for annual fundraising drive
  • Manage Donor and Member relations
  • Enter and manage data in the Little Green Light system

 

The successful candidate must possess the following professional qualifications and skills:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to working with artists, funders, community members and staff to further the mission and Vision of the organization
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the nonprofit sector 
  • Strong understanding of grant-funded projects, preferably in the arts environment  
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to initiate and lead conversations with funders, donors, and stakeholders
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team and with persons and communities from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds 
  • A passion for supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts community
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to think strategically
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Proficient with Google Workspace and MS Office, Adobe Suite software, Photoshop. Knowledge of Little Green Light Donor Management software, Video Editing software, and Wordpress are a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Cleveland nonprofit sector
  • Ability to work in a small-staff environment, multi-task between roles and projects, and consistently meet deadlines

 

 

APPLICATION PROCESS:

The starting salary range for this position is $32,000 to $37,000 annually. Zygote Press offers two weeks of paid vacation time, and 12 floating holidays, a flexible work schedule, the option to work remotely at least 50% of the time, a full access membership to the Zygote Press studio and equipment with all the benefits of a Zygote Shop Artist membership, free access to all of Zygote’s classes and workshops, and the opportunity to be part of a fantastic, creative, and warm group of nonprofit professionals, working in a democratic organizational culture.
