ideastream, NE Ohio’s non-profit, public media organization is seeking an experienced Accountant to serve in the Finance/Accounting Department in Cleveland, OH.
The successful candidate will perform a variety of analysis and accounting roles in revenue, project accounting and general accounting areas.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Monitor, analyze and report on all cash management and banking activity.
Analyze, record and monitor revenue control risks from various sources.
Provide analysis, monitoring and reporting support on project activity, budgets and variances for project managers.
Provide accounting support for Accounts Payable and Cash Application responsibilities.
Communicate directly with project manager and project teams regarding transactions and project variances.
Monitor, analyze and report on all Capital activity.
Assist General Accounting Manager with month-end analysis, recording and reporting duties.
Basic knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
Thorough knowledge of revenue, banking, and account receivable processes
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Demonstrated computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Competency with financial system software a plus.
Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in teams and meet organizational deadlines.
Other duties as assigned.
Moderate level of financial, accounting and business experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in business/finance/accounting preferred or equivalent experience.
Essential Physical Demands and Working Environment:
The position requires the incumbent to sit for prolonged time periods in an office environment. Ability to see, communicate, hear and utilize electronic communication devices. Requires fine motor skills to use computer keyboards and other general office equipment.
