Holden Forests & Gardens is one of Northeast Ohio’s largest and most important cultural and environmental institutions. It is comprised of two campuses, the urban Cleveland Botanical Garden campus located in Cleveland’s University Circle and the rural Holden Arboretum campus located in Kirtland.

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. Located at the Holden Arboretum campus, the Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for supporting the Director of Finance in managing and executing a range of accounting activities including but not limited to cash reconciliations, invoice creation and processing, and audit preparation.

Responsibilities

• Support revenue activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of deposit creation and entry
• Perform daily cash reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset entries and reconciliations
• Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of select balance sheet accounts
• Assist in preparation of documentation for external auditors
• Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers, journals and logs
• Support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry
• Other ad-hoc projects as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Public accounting experience a plus

Requirements

• Must pass a criminal background and substance test
• Must have a Valid Ohio driver’s license and a driving record in good standing
