Senior Accounting Manager

Ideastream Public Media, a Cleveland-based multiple media organization and home to Ohio’s largest PBS, NPR, and classical radio stations, seeks a self-motivated and experienced accounting professional to serve as our Senior Accounting Manager. In this role, you will develop and implement systems and procedures for collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial information while fostering a continuous improvement mindset.

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for supervising, monitoring and evaluating all day-to-day accounting activities as well as longer term tasks such as financial analyses, budget forecasting, and audit preparation. You will work closely with Budget Managers to ensure fiscal responsibility. This position supervises the work of the Accounting Coordinator (AP) and the Accounting Specialist (AR).

Qualified candidates will have demonstrated proficiency in US GAAP and non-profit accounting principles and practices, including single audit requirements. A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, a Certified Public Accountant license (CPA), and six years of experience in public accounting or in financial reporting and/or accounting is preferred, though an equivalent of experience in related fields and education will be considered. Experience working in a non-profit or public media environment is preferred. The starting salary for this position is $80,000 and is commensurate with experience.
