Together, the Holden Arboretum and the Cleveland Botanical Garden constitute the 12^th largest public garden in the US.

We are seeking a Security Officer to join our team. Located at the Cleveland Botanical Garden campus, the Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of guests and visitors by monitoring the facility and grounds and through the enforcement of policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety of visitors, employees and Garden grounds while enforcing rules and regulations through regular patrols.
• Provide information and assistance to visitors in a pleasant, professional manner.
• Work closely with Guest Services to provide the best information and service to visitors.
• Prepare accurate and clear reports of accidents, illness, theft, vandalism or any other unusual occurrence.
• Control traffic whenever needed.
• Perform security rounds for building, parking garage and grounds.
• Secure public and staff areas.
• Provide assistance during regular hours of operation, special events and private after-hours rentals.
• Attend weekly Facility Rentals Department meeting.
• Secure the building each night at closing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• One year experience in security work preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedule on an as needed basis
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be physically fit

Requirements

• Must pass a criminal background and substance test
• Must have a driving record in good standing
• Must be able work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
