Producer

Ideastream Public Media, a Cleveland-based multiple media organization and home to Ohio’s largest PBS, NPR, and classical radio stations, seeks a creative and responsible individual to join The Ohio Channel team in Columbus to serve as a Producer to support writing, producing, shooting, and editing video segments and creative content for distribution on television, web, and social media.

Reporting to the OGT Deputy Director, the Producer will prepare and direct live/taped public affairs content and assist with scheduling and pre-production duties relative to government proceedings. You will complete post-production editing and closed captioning using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, conceptualize and produce short, documentary-style programs for television and web, and archive footage using a Digital Asset Management System.

Qualified candidates will have a combination of experience working in a live production or television operations setting, strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills and will be able to juggle a variety of concurrent tasks under tight time constraints. A Bachelor’s Degree in media, production, or a related field, and four years of broadcast television and production experience is preferred, although an equivalent of experience in related fields and education will be considered. The starting salary for this Columbus based position is $50,000.
