Network Engineer

Ideastream Public Media, a Cleveland-based multiple media organization and home to Ohio’s largest NPR, PBS, and classical radio stations, seeks a responsible, team-oriented, and knowledgeable technology professional to serve as our Network Engineer. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Network Engineer administers and oversees the implementation, organization, and troubleshooting of the network, hardware, and underlying communications protocols. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Engineering department and other functional areas to provide technical and organizational support for departmental networks, servers, and application resources. The Network Engineer provides direct and proactive support in the operations on network hardware and server operating systems and software.

Qualified candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of PCs, network hardware, operating systems, and software. The candidate should also have strong verbal and written communication, decision making and problem-solving skills, and be able to manage multiple concurrent tasks. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and three years of relevant experience with LAN and WAN technologies including systems configuration and support, software installation, and set-up is preferred, though an equivalent of experience in related fields and education will be considered. Specific experience with Arista, Cisco, Palo Alto, Office 365, MS exchange, and other technologies is preferred. The salary range for this position begins at $70,000 and is commensurate with experience. Ideastream is a 24/7 operation which may require this position to work outside of normal business hours and on weekends. A valid Ohio drivers’ license is also required for this position.
