Art House Exploration of Campus Expansion

Juniors and seniors attending college or living in the greater Cleveland area. You must check eligibility and apply on the Studio Institute Winter Intern site: https://www.artsintern.org/art-house-marketing-intern

The Intern Project will be integral to the community design planning process that Art House (AH) will be undergoing with its Creative Garden and Campus Expansion campaign. AH envisions the new campus to be a welcoming and inspirational oasis in a busy, ethnically diverse inner-city neighborhood. The space provides an empty canvas for creating a plaza that will function as an outdoor classroom, exhibition, and performance space.

AH will launch 2-3 community café events with stakeholders to acquire input and design of a new art park, as well as to understand what types of programming would make residents of the Brooklyn Centre neighborhood feel welcome in the space. The AH vision includes an arts-focused public greenspace and a new multi-purpose building adjacent to the existing studio facility that will expand AH services and strengthen its position as a community arts center.

The intern will collaborate with staff to successfully host Community Cafés, to market them (design event invite); assist host/facilitator (create visual meeting materials); collect responses, organize and create a summary report of community input that reflects the organization’s mission and forward-looking vision.

The intern will gain the experience of being an important member of a community centered arts organization. S/he will be immersed in Art House’s history and mission and gain practical knowledge on operations and mission fulfillment. S/he will have the

opportunity to interact and build relationships with AH stakeholders and community members. The intern will also gain valuable experience with capital projects, outdoor art projects and installations, and will have accomplished a significant art and event project that has an exciting impact on Art House visibility and future. Knowledge and experience with

PowerPoint, Publisher, skills with illustration and graphic design, good communication and writing skills, and familiarity with marketing and social media promotions. Ten - hours per week.
