The Cleveland Institute of Art is a nationally recognized four-year accredited college of art and design. An educational cornerstone in Cleveland since 1882, Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) is an independent college of art and design committed to leadership and vision in all forms of visual arts education. The college is seeking a Manager for the Equipment Checkout, which provides a wide range of audio-visual technologies to students, faculty, and staff. Daily duties include supervising the staff, budget, and operations of a pan-institutional Equipment Checkout.

Responsibilities:

Reports to the Vice President + CIO of Office of Support Services
Represents the Office of Support Service on committees related to academic technology needs
Supervises full-time and work-study staff within the Equipment Checkout
Oversees all equipment, technology, supply orders, and operational budget accounting for the Equipment Checkout, including digital / analog cameras, projectors, light kits, and audio recording / reproduction systems
Oversees equipment check in/out and maintenance, and organizing the Asset Management system
Instructs students on the proper use of equipment; including troubleshooting, re-stocking, repair/warranty reporting, and loss reporting
Prepares and assists faculty with curricular technology preparation and trouble-shooting
Supports Technical Specialists in specialized facilities such as the video studio or sound lab
Demonstrates proper use and safe handling of equipment
Supports Audio-Visual support staff with the setup and tear-down of special events
Qualifications:

BFA or similar experience, based on resume and professional work. MA/MFA preferred
Must be able to attend occasional meetings or events outside of regular work hours, this position requires the ability to work flexible hours
Must possess excellent communication, planning, organization, scheduling, and troubleshooting skills
Must possess technology skills including proficiency in computers, peripheral equipment, educational technologies, and both Windows and MacOS platforms
Must have experience and knowledge of lighting equipment, photography and videography equipment and processes
