Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) produces groundbreaking performances and life-changing education programs to raise consciousness and nurture compassion. CPT seeks an Education Coordinator willing to join its hardworking team with the ambitious goals of growing the organization and changing the community. The Education Coordinator works closely with and reports directly to Director of Community Ensembles/Brick City Theatre Program Director. This position is a year-round, full-time staff position, annually earning approximately $28,000-34,000. Benefits included. The position requires a highly motivated and organized individual who will take on administrative, producorial, and community organizing responsibilities in support of CPT’s flagship education program, Brick City Theatre, and Cleveland Act Now, which offer afterschool and summer theatre arts education to children ages 5-14 who reside in Cleveland neighborhoods and public housing.

The successful candidate will be collaborative, eager to learn, excited by working in the theatre, and have both strong administrative skills (Office Suite: Excel, Office, PowerPoint) and producing skills. The successful candidate will be excited to assist, coordinate, and manage all day-to-day program management needs of Brick City Theatre and Cleveland Act Now as well as assisting with administrative needs of Program Director. Background in theatre education or performing experience is not a must but is a plus. The successful candidate does need to be committed to and excited by working with communities of color to produce warm, exciting, empowering community experiences for our program’s participants and families that support the overall vision of the program and organization.

The Education Coordinator will be responsible for assisting, coordinating, and managing Brick City Theatre program management. This includes – but is not limited to – provide executive assistantship to Brick City Program Director; project manage play presentations; liaison and provide proactive communications with onsite partner staff; maintain and support record keeping and tracking of students; support student touring and family field trips; purchase and maintain classroom supplies and snack; and provide administrative support to a range of teaching artists. Reliable transportation is required.

The Education Coordinator will also be expected to contribute their skills, energy, and talents to the larger organization. This includes – but is not limited to – assistance with community events: Station Hope, Road to Hope, Pandemonium; and other staff-wide activities.
