Education Assistant – Part Time
The Education Assistant works closely with the Director of Education, Assistant Director of Education, and Associate Directors of Dance, Music, and Creative Arts Therapies in support of departmental administration, assisting students, families, and community partners, and assisting with success of production and events. Most hours will be on-site at Beck Center while some hours may be completed remotely.
Education: Two-year degree or equivalent work experience, preferred.
Experience: Two years of work experience and understanding of the arts, specifically in dance, music, theater and/or the visual arts, preferred.
Flexibility, creativity, and dedication to serving the needs of program participants
Working Conditions / Physical Demands:
General office environment; must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear; and stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Articulate, ability to work well with colleagues, students, families, and community members to engage with multiple populations; excellent written and verbal communication skills; organized, creative, detail-oriented, pro-active, independent, energetic, collaborative; ability to work some evenings and weekends; high-level interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy; affinity for arts education.
Hours & Pay Rate:
The position is scheduled for 10 hours per week at a rate of $15 per hour. Hours may be flexible based upon need and time of the year.
