Staff Music Therapist, Full Time (40 hours weekly)

Position Summary: Functioning as a member of the Creative Arts Therapies team, music therapists (MT) serve individuals of all ages with and without various disabilities. Assignments include placement in agencies throughout Northeast Ohio region as well as group and/or private music therapy sessions and/or adapted programming at Beck Center for the Arts.
Responsibilities:
MT’s primary responsibility includes the design and implementation of both individualized and group music therapy treatment plans with corresponding documentation and reports, with success being measured by punctuality, consistency, client satisfaction, and yearly supervision and performance evaluations.
MT will also lead various early childhood music enrichment programs both at the Beck Center and in the community.
MT may also lead adapted and community arts programs as assigned by the Associate Director of Creative Arts Therapies.
In conjunction with Associate Director of Creative Arts Therapies:
o Provide assessment sessions for possible new clients
o Demo sessions for new contract sites
o Oversee areas of need within the program which may include:
§ Instrument and supply organization
§ Working with observers from the community
§ Continuing education
§ Review of programmatic needs, policies, procedures and reporting
Be part of the team implementing special events including, but not limited to,
Razzle Dazzle
Super Saturdays @ Beck Center
Sensory Friendly events where the schedule allows
Represent the Creative Arts Therapies program at fundraising and marketing events as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor degree in Music Therapy
· Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) through the Certification Board for Music Therapists, or Board Eligible with immediate plans to take the certification exam.
· Reliable transportation both to Beck Center and to various contracts in the community
1-2 years’ experience as a music therapist in a community based program preferred.
A self-motivated individual with experience and desire to move the music therapy program forward by assisting the Associate Director in increasing participation and community awareness.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines.

Willing to work additional hours as needed and required
Pay Rate: Salaried rate will be discussed with each potential candidate
