Community Programs Coordinator

The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning (CAL) provides multi-disciplinary arts education opportunities for youth throughout Northeast Ohio in schools and community venues. The CAL Mission is to ignite student learning, creativity, and success through the arts. CAL serves a 6-county Northeast Ohio community connecting professional teaching artists with youth in schools, libraries, community centers, and beyond. CAL is in University Circle providing outreach to its neighboring communities.  

The Community Programs Coordinator is an integral part of the CAL staff and is committed to achieving CAL’s goal to integrate the arts and provide access to all youth across Northeast Ohio. This position will support all aspects of the Education Department through program coordination and implementation oversight with continual connection to community partners, families, and new participant outreach. Additional tasks will include administrative support and inter-departmental collaboration.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide support to projects and activities within the Education Department including in-school and out-of-school programming, professional development, and other community arts initiatives.  
  • Provide onsite coordination for ArtWorksPlay It Forward!® Cleveland, and other CAL outreach programs including evening and weekend arts programming. 
  • Work with Program Directors to schedule programs, prepare and complete contracts for artists and schools, complete data entry, and coordinate email lists and mailings for community activities and programs. 
  • Work with Program Directors to provide data and documentation for relevant grant proposals and reports. 
  • Monitor and support program-wide adherence to CAL program policies and procedures. 
  • Document programs with photos and written narratives. 
  • Other duties and activities as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

Understanding and passion for the importance of arts education for youth and CAL’s mission. Strong interpersonal skills and presentation abilities. Excellent customer service skills. Preferred candidates will have attained or be finishing a bachelor’s degree in an arts administration, education, or related field, have experience within the arts, display excellent written and oral communication skills, be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel applications, and demonstrate initiative to solve problems as they arise.  

Applicants with experience in the following areas are preferred; event coordination, complex schedule management, and youth advocacy and mentorship. Beneficial, but not required: experience with Photoshop or other graphic design software, photography, and use of Google Drive.

An interview, background check, and professional references are required for finalists.  

Compensation:

Salary range is $35,000 – 40,000 and will be commensurate with experience. Competitive benefits package includes health insurance, short-term disability, 403b retirement plan.
