Call for Teaching Artists

Spring 2021 ArtWorks

The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning’s ArtWorks is an arts-based job training and college readiness program for Northeast Ohio’s 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students.

Teens from Cuyahoga County Schools are enrolled to train under the guidance of master teaching artists, who mentor them in an art form while teaching them 21st century skills.

The apprenticeship experience allows students to develop time management, professional communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, which are transferable to any workplace or college.

Apprentices also participate in workshops that focus on financial literacy, resume writing, financial aid applications, and interview skills.

COVID-19 Plans + Protocols

For 2021, due to Covid 19 restrictions, ArtWorks will operate in-person in small groups of no more than 10 under strict health and safety protocols determined by the Ohio Department of Health. All participants will be screened for Covid 19 each day of the session.

Most likely programming will be held in person and applicants should be comfortable teaching a class of max 8 students. Specific locations in Cleveland are still being determined.

If there is a change in government protocols, ArtWorks may be implemented virtually. Teaching artists should be prepared for either scenario – in-person or virtual.
