VIOLIN + TROMBONE INSTRUCTORS

Center for Arts-Inspired Learning is currently seeking music instructors for the Spring 2020 Play It Forward season.

Candidates must have prior background in working with youth and strong professional or college level violin or trombone experience.

This program is an opportunity to connect underserved youth in Cleveland to classical instrument instruction. Participants in grades 3-8 will have the opportunity to learn to play the violin or trombone for the first time or enhance previously learned skills. This program is generously funded by the City of Cleveland.

All participants will be given a violin or trombone for free for the duration of this program and have the opportunity to keep these for future use.

Please consider one of the music instructor openings below to help us inspired Cleveland youth through the world of music:

VIOLIN POSITIONS (2 OPENINGS)

PROFESSIONAL TEACHING ARTIST:

Teaching Artist will develop the main lesson plan for the program and instruct students once a week. This position will work in collaboration with the teaching assistant to ensure program consistency and quality for participant progress.

Class Schedule: Wednesdays 5-6:30pm.
Teaching Artist is expected to arrive 30 minutes prior to the program for set up.


TEACHING ASSISTANT:

The teaching assistant will lead weekly practices sessions to reinforce concepts taught by the professional teaching artists. The teaching assistant should be able to engage and lead a group of participants. Input for lessons and practice is encouraged.

Class Schedule: Saturdays 4-5:30pm.
Teaching Artist is expected to arrive 30 minutes prior to the program for set up.

VIOLIN SPRING SEASON DETAILS:

When: January 15 – April 4, 2020
Final Showcase: Thursday, April 2
from 6-7pm at City Hall
Location: Cudell Rec Center
1910 West Blvd Cleveland, OH 44102
Participants: Class size can be up to 25 participants


TROMBONE POSITION (1 OPENING)

PROFESSIONAL TEACHING ARTIST:

Teaching Artist will develop the main lesson plan for the program and instruct students once a week. This position will work in collaboration with the teaching assistance to ensure program consistency and quality for participant progress.

Class Schedule: Fridays 4-5:30pm.
Teaching artist is expected to arrive on site 30 minutes prior to program for set up.

TROMBONE SPRING SEASON DETAILS:

When: January 17 – April 4, 2020
Final Showcase: Thursday, April 2
from 6pm – 7pm at City Hall
Location: Glenville Rec Center
