The Gertrude Gardens has brought renewed life to the corner of E 65th and Gertrude Avenue with vibrant flowers and bright imaginative art installations. The site- a collaborative project between local business, the Gold Plum and Slavic Village Development- is searching for a local artist to design and create a sign.
PROJECT BACKGROUND:The Gertrude Gardens is a formerly vacant lot transformed into a publicly activated greenspace featuring perennial gardens, a walking path and public art installations. The next phase includes adding permanent sculptures and signage.
Inspired by Rooms To Let: CLE, the Gertrude Gardens was intended to re-imagine how a vacant lot, where houses once stood, can be reinvented into a community space for residents and visitors to enjoy.
If you are an artist interested in submitting a proposal to create the sign, please download the PDF application. Deadline is February 21st
