The Cleveland Institute of Art is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time ranked faculty position as Assistant /Associate Professor in the Animation department.  Qualified candidates should have a professional background working in a studio environment with a minimum of five years’ experience in 3D animation. Preferred candidate will be expected to teach courses in 3D character animation and be open to working in emerging practices, including immersive technology. The Animation department at the Cleveland Institute of Art is known internationally for its faculty, alumni and visiting artists. The department recently moved into a new facility featuring a suite of labs filled with industry standard hardware and software. The department has dedicated Cintiqs, high-end machines, VR & AR headsets, and a stop-motion room. It has access to a motion-capture system, green screen & lighting studio, a sound recording room and a render farm. The Animation major offers a comprehensive program that masters industry standard techniques in animation with an emphasis on storytelling.
