Through our Summer Teacher Residency, CIA brings together a diverse group of dedicated professional for an unforgettable time of creativity and collegiality. You’ll join a select group of art educators from across the country as you create a new body of studio work, and reinvigorate your teaching practice.
While on campus, residents are provided individual studio spaces, art-making supplies, and access to CIA’s state-of-the-art facilities. A spirit of collaboration and community allows for regular feedback and input from your residency cohort, guided by our faculty advisors.
At the end of the program, you’ll showcase the work created during your ten days at CIA in a group exhibition, with an opening and reception open to the greater community.
The 2020 residency will be open to educators interested in several disciplines, divided into two courses exploring the areas of:
2D Processes, including drawing, painting and printmaking.
Contemporary Craft, including ceramics, glass and jewelry and metals.
Applications are accepted from November 1, 2019, through March 1, 2020.
