Nico, Philippe Garrel, and a naked Pierre Clémenti star in Garrel’s hypnotic experimental feature, a cryptic collection of human figures (and at least one horse) in a series of stunningly photographed color landscapes. Filmed in remote regions of Iceland, Morocco, and Death Valley and filled with long, exquisite tracking shots, the film revels in the elements of earth, air, water, and fire by fixating on deserts, wind, and clouds.
