The Arts of Peace is a unique program that that was created and designed by a Lucille Short. A parent promoting peace and education in the Cleveland Metropolitan Schools. The program was designed to be Multi-Faceted in its purpose. It is a platform for our children to display their numerous and varied talents. It is a format for the youth to give voice to their feelings about violence they encounter on a daily basis, whether it’s in the home, in the neighborhood or in school. Its also serves as a release for some of the pent up frustration about violent situations over which they have no control. The children are asked to perform original material relating to the effect violence have had on their lives or some other family member, friend or classmate. We provide informative violence prevention workshops for parents and community. We try very hard to have something for all the stakeholders, because if we are to make a difference it will need all of us working together.
