Teen & Adult Flamenco Dance Classes

7-8pm
Mixed-level technique ages 13+:
will be focused on movement technique, footwork, alignment, and musicality. Whether a beginner or experienced dancer, this class is suitable for those wanting to further develop dance abilities in flamenco.

8-9pm
Mixed level repertory – caracoles with mantón (shawl), ages 13+:
will be focused on learning steps and dancing in the caracoles style with the mantón de manila (embroidered flamenco shawl).
Abrepaso has a limited number of mantones that can be rented for the semester. You can also find shawls online via Ebay, Flamenco Marketplace on Facebook, and Etsy. These shawls are sometimes called piano shawls. Make sure the shawl is at least 48” x 48” without fringe. Tuition: $415 for 12 weeks of both classes or $215 for 12 weeks of one class; $22/drop-in hour; $40 for 2 consecutive drop-ins; classes are also available via Zoom. Students who sign up for the full session receive recordings of the classes and study videos to help learn the choreographies.

Students have the opportunity to perform at the end of the session in our annual winter recital and tablao, Navidad Flamenca, at the Beachland Ballroom Sunday December 17th 5pm. Students have the rare opportunity to work with professional, nationally acclaimed flamenco musicians.
