SPACES Q3 2021 Exhibition

Nafis M. White (Providence, RI) is an interdisciplinary Artist whose recent body of works are created from objects commonly found in beauty supply stores, industrial sites and the seemingly limitless horizons of our global and political landscapes. Through sculpture, installation, photography and weaving she centers the uncanny audacity of self-affirmation and love by means of repetition as a form of change. In this residency, Nafis will continue developing three distinct bodies of sculptural works which are an exploration and exaltation of Black identity and experience through her seminal works, All In (After Tony Feher), Oculus and Self Portrait.
