The Community Cup Classic Foundation, Josh Gibson Foundation, Lifeline Sports and the PARTNERSHIP proudly present another year of events.
This presentation looks at the involvement of African Americans and other people of color in American baseball. While there is evidence of inclusion during the early days of organized baseball (mid-19th Century); racial segregation became the norm near the turn of the century in what was referred to as a ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ excluding Black players from the highest levels of the game.
