Plum City Reading

Plum City Reading Series is Literary Cleveland’s new regular reading series bringing the country’s most interesting and groundbreaking authors to Cleveland.  Plum City aims to highlight the work of independent publishers while thoughtfully curating celebratory evenings of literature and community.

Join us for our first 2024 reading featuring Noor Hindi, author of Dear God, Dear Bones, Dear Yellow, and Ghassan Zeineddine, author of Dearborn.

This installment of the Plum City Reading Series will take place Tuesday, March 19th at 7 pm at Loganberry Books (13015 Larchmere in Cleveland), to be immediately followed by an afterparty at the Literary Cleveland Offices (13002 Larchmere).

NOTE: In keeping with our mission, to ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, the registration fee for this event is “Pay What You Can.” We believe every writer, reader, storyteller, and literary enthusiast who wants to attend a Literary Cleveland event should be able to have that experience. “Pay What You Can” registration allows comfortable, affordable participation for everyone. We have suggested fees—you can pay one of them, or pay what you can. Your participation is the priority for us.

Noor Hindi is a Palestinian-American poet. Her debut collection of poems, Dear God. Dear Bones. Dear Yellow (Haymarket Books 2022), was an honorable mention for the Arab American Book Award. She is currently editing a Palestinian poetry anthology with George Abraham (Haymarket Books, 2025). She is a 2021 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellow. Ghassan Zeineddine was born in Washington, DC, and raised in the Middle East. He is the author of the story collection Dearborn and co-editor of the creative nonfiction anthology Hadha Baladuna: Arab American Narratives of Boundary and Belonging. Dearborn was named a Best Fiction Book of 2023 by Kirkus Reviews, Booklist, the Chicago Public Library, and Powell’s. His fiction has appeared in the Georgia Review, Prairie Schooner, Michigan Quarterly Review, TriQuarterly, the Arkansas International, Witness, Pleiades, Fiction International, the Common, Epiphany, FOLIO, Grist: A Journal of the Literary Arts, and the Iron Horse Literary Review, among other publications. Ghassan lives with his wife and two daughters in Ohio, where he is an assistant professor of creative writing at Oberlin College.
