For many in the massive post-World War II baby boom generation, it was both the best of times and the worst of times. An argument can be made that America of the 1960s made Major League baseball, the bastion of tradition for over 60 years at the time feel odd and out-of-place throughout the decade. Answering to the pressures of the era, America’s pastime experienced what many have described as ‘the golden age of baseball’ both on and off the field of play.
