This hands-on outdoor workshop for the hobbyist and small landowner will cover the practical aspects of growing mushrooms outdoors, and how it relates to sustainable forest management.
Participants will work with the instructor to drill holes in logs, fill holes with plug spawn of shiitake mushrooms, and seal with wax. At the end of the workshop, each participant will have had an opportunity to experience all steps, be equipped with the basics of log maintenance, and will take a log home to grow their own mushrooms outdoors.
